Easter is the “Superbowl” of the church world.  Churches around the world prepare for the biggest event of the year.

Relevant Church out of Riverside, California came to The Creative Complex to create an event brand that would help them pack out the famous Fox Theater.  We met during the February 2014 Church Ninja Magnetic Branding Conference in Orlando.

We were excited to implement our Viral Event Branding marketing method to their Easter event, along with branding all of their digital and print collateral needs.

Opportunity

Jonathan Bilima, founder and Senior Pastor of Relevant Church came to The Creative Complex for an effective event brand strategy giving them a major edge and exposure in the Riverside community to pack out the Fox Theater.

Our task: To come up with an event brand that would attract members of the Riverside community to celebrate Easter at the Fox theater. The name and brand needed to tell future members what they can expect from Relevant Church events and excite people to want to be a part of the church.

Our Process

The best event identity programs embody and advance the church’s brand by supporting the desired perceptions. In the case of Relevant Church, our objective was to develop an event identity that encompasses every tangible expression of challenging, creative, interactive, meaningful, and spiritually engaging church, yet approachable and inclusive to even the person that hasn’t attended a service before. Our goal for Relevant Church was to provide an easy way for church members to invite their friends, and a trackable contest feature to incentivize more sharing.

We accomplished this by developing an event brand identity that would become immediately recognizable, distinctive and sophisticated thereby positioning the event for success. We focused on key elements necessary to distinguish Relevant and create a viral marketing campaign.

Completion

The success of Relevant’s event brand strategy implementation plan involved the development of a multi-platform identity program. The RSVP website is designed to brand the event, drive engagement and viral RSVPs. We developed event brand identity elements, digital media, and identity collateral including animated text messages.

Results

The result was an RSVP website with viral social media components and the beginning of creating tribal followers.
