Jose’s Hands

Jose’s Hands is the primary non-profit that The Creative Complex support.  The organization was founded by our CEO, Alex Miranda, and his family to honor his brother Maj. José Jamil Miranda, MD, MPH and perpetuate his values and memory by enabling a medical student to explore an area of public health in a unique and under-served setting, and by creating a permanent connection between José’s family and the world.

Jose’s Hands finds it important to introduce first-year medical school students to a lifelong involvement in medical mission work in international or underserved settings, exposing them to the health, social, and cultural characteristics of a developing world community.

Medical missions give doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers the opportunity “to help people” in the way they dreamed of when they were kids. Medical missions bring hope to the three billion people throughout the world who live without basic healthcare services. Africa alone has a shortage of one million healthcare providers. Medical missions aim to bridge that gap.
